My wife has never fished for trout, so I decided to hire a professional guide to make our trip more enjoyable and relaxing.
WOW, did I chose the right guy for the job. We caught TONS of fish, and just fishing with Papa Bill made the trip worthwhile. He's a fantastic person, we were smiling and laughing from the time we stepped foot in the boat until we left. The shore lunch was unbeatable and a must try. I can sum it up with one word....YUMMY!!. His guarantee for a good time fell a little short, we had a GREAT TIME!!. It was truly and unforgettable experience that will be ingrained in our minds forever. Just spent two days fishing with my friend Papa Bill. I had never met him before our first trout trip three years ago but now I have no problem calling him my friend. Bill is your father, grandfather, brother, or friend that everyone loves to be with. He also happens to be the best guide on the river. EVERY TIME we go out we are the only ones catching our limit with ease. We caught some beautiful browns and all the rainbow we could handle even with no power being made to produce water flow. We fished every way possible and with every bait combination possible and we caught fish with them all. It does not matter if you want a family fun trip, fish for numbers, or catching the big ones. Bill is your man for the job....... and a fine man at that. Do yourself a favor and get the shore lunch. It is worth EVERY PENNY! Two years ago we started our day of fishing as customers of Papa Bill and left four hours later as friends. Under his watchful eye we have caught a lot of trout and this past Friday was no exception. The day was highlighted with a 23 inch Brown Trout caught on the first cast of the day by Martha and the fishing only got better from there. What a wonderful day on the river, can't wait to go again. There is nothing like fish from the live well to the fryer, as well as a bunch of other sides that will guarantee you to be full and ready for your afternoon of catching fish! My son and I went on a half day trip, and we had fish on nearly the whole time! Constant action! We went by other boats with guides that simply were not having the action, or fun were having. This was the second fishing trip with Papa Bill. My son and I have fished waters from the Gulf of Mexico to Alaska and have never had more fun than fishing with Papa Bill. His knowledge of the White River and surrounding scenery is phenomenal. We caught lots of fish which was secondary to the fun we had just fishing, talking, laughing and discussing the scenery on the White. Fishing with Papa Bill provided my father and I with some unforgettable memories. We caught plenty of fish but what made our trip special was that Papa Bill treated us like family. He did all of the other things, besides putting us on lots of fish, like showing us the river, the eagles, maneuvering the boat in high water, cleaning our lines of debris, showing us "honey holes" we could fish on our own, cleaning our fish...The list could go on and on.
